2016 Natural Beauty Trends for Green Worshippers

in Beauty on 24/03/16

Top 5 trends for natural beauty in 2016. Paleo beauty, small-batch, individualism, organic skincare, natural skincare. By Sweet Living Company. Handmade anti-aging skincare made with 100% pure ingredients.

1. Individualism
We are loving this one! Spend 30 seconds on Tumblr, Instagram or Pinterest and you will see infinite examples of women and girls breaking beauty “rules” and showcasing their individualism. Once concealed, freckles are now celebrated. Interest in 12-step contouring tutorials that create the same face on different heads is finally dwindling. Hair color hues in shades of everything are everywhere (we are rather fond of the Granny Hair trend).

2. Farm to Face
The line between beauty and food continues to blur. Women (and men) are turning to skincare that contains Superfood ingredients that are usually eaten. This trend sits within the holistic way consumers view their wellbeing; they are recognizing the connection between what they put in and on their body. Paleo Beauty, where skincare echoes the routines and ingredients used by our ancestors is also a trend on the rise.

3. Small-Batch Beauty
Batch-made beauty products, formulated in small runs and with limited shelf life, are on the rise. The businesses behind them are celebrating the variation between collections, tapping into public desire to move away from mass-produced, processed skincare. Much like what is happening in the slow food/shop local movements.

4. Single Ingredients
Beauty brands that take the concept of purity to extremes flourished in 2015 and this trend shows no signs of slowing down. The organic cosmetic market will be valued at $66.1 billion by 2020, according to a 2015 report from research company Future Market Insights. Consumers are choosing natural products over those that are chemically enhanced. Look for brands that go the extra mile by stripping down to 100% pure, natural ingredients.

5. Solid Beauty
A wave of natural waterless products is appearing on the market. Solid and waterless products typically pack more punch for your money, and hopefully don’t contain preservatives. Consumers are increasingly moving away from water-based products and looking for items that don’t contain fillers. This is partly for convenience but women are becoming more mindful of the environmental impact conventional beauty products have.
