We all have our favourite products and routines that work for us, but beautiful skin also comes from within. The most important factor is hydration. Those eight to ten glasses of water per day are no joke. Without adequate hydration the skin cannot maintain its flexibility and will appear dry, cracked, and dull. If you find it difficult to drink plain water all day long, try adding a few slices of lemon. It not only tastes refreshing, but lemon supports your liver’s ability to expel toxins from the body so that your skin doesn’t have to – keeping you blemish free.

We also recommends avoiding sugary drinks, too much caffeine, and trans/hydrogenated fats that all work to dehydrate the skin and hinder liver function. When added to your diet over time, superfoods can drastically improve your healthy, natural glow. Feed Your Skin From The Inside

Salmon

(Helps repair skin cells and is used for Collagen formation)
Omega 3: Reduces skin dryness and improves skin’s elasticity; also anti-inflammatory.
Zinc: Improves skin luminosity and assists in the structure of cell membranes, helping to keep moisture in.
Selenium: Improves elasticity and luminosity of skin.

Avocado

Omega 3: Reduces skin dryness and improves skin’s elasticity; also anti-inflammatory.
Glutathione: An antioxidant, helps combat aging.

Green Leafy Vegetables

(Aid in liver detoxification)
Vitamin A: Combats aging of the skin and helps regenerate skin cells; also prevents dryness, roughness, and scaliness.
Vitamin E: A potent antioxidant, combats free radicals that age the skin.
Vitamin C: A potent antioxidant, combats skin aging; also used for collagen formation and helps the skin look luminous and young.
Vitamin B: Required for the growth of new skin cells and replacing those that have died; helps prevent peeling and cracking of the skin; also assists in hormone balance.

Cod Liver Oil

Vitamin A: Combats aging of the skin and helps regenerate skin cells; also prevents dryness, roughness, and scaliness.
Vitamin D: Encourages cell growth and helps absorb calcium which aids in bone growth.

Fermented & Prebiotic Foods

Fermented foods are needed for healthy gut flora which boosts immunity, helps break down food so that nutrients are taken to the cells efficiently, produces B vitamins, and helps excrete toxins (rather than excreted through the skin).

Prebiotic foods such as cabbage and asparagus are good for healthy gut flora so the good bacteria can flourish.
